In The King of Elfland's Daughter, by Dunsany, a small town is overrun by various fey creatures, which causes a certain amount of difficulty for the townsfolk. I liked the idea a great deal and made several prints putting these sorts of creatures into contemporary, suburban settings.

that fairy in the front's left rib and body comes out a with a different ratio then his other side. its still a cool concept adaptation from that book :)

Yeah, there's a lot that's kind of funky about the figures in all of the pixie prints. I wasn't really trying to be technically precise with them. The mood and the gesture were more important to me at the time, as well as trying to make an etching look like an ink and wash brush drawing.

well it defiantly looks ink and chalk. the mood seems dark to me, is that what you were after?

Yeah, dark is good. I was dealing with a number of negative influences when I made this one in particular, but when it comes down to it, I don't do a lot of 'light' work to begin with.
